About EmojiDB

EmojiDB (emojidb.cc) is a free, open emoji database built for one purpose: finding and copying any emoji as fast as possible — while also giving you the data behind it.

The database currently covers1,923 emojis(3,953 glyphs including skin-tone variants), up to and including Emoji 17.0. Every emoji has its own page with:

  • One-click copy & paste for any app — WhatsApp, Instagram, Discord, X, TikTok
  • Unicode codepoints, HTML entities, CSS and JavaScript escapes, UTF-8 bytes
  • GitHub, Slack and Discord shortcodes (like :heart:)
  • Skin-tone variants, keywords, category and version history

Data source

Emoji names, categories and metadata come from the Unicode CLDR and the Unicode Emoji Standard, packaged by the emojibaseproject. Emojis are rendered by your device's own emoji font (Apple, Google, Samsung or Microsoft), so each glyph looks exactly the way it will when you paste it.

Technology

The site is a fully static Astroapplication deployed on Cloudflare's global edge network — which is why pages load almost instantly anywhere in the world. Search runs entirely in your browser; we never see your queries.
